Dr. Chigozirim “Chigo” Ekeke is a board-certified thoracic surgeon and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Michigan Medicine, where he is also Surgical Director of the Michigan Surgical Health & Optimization Program (MSHOP). He specializes in complex lung, esophageal, airway, and chest wall disease, using advanced robotic and minimally invasive techniques. Drawing on that experience, he developed the SHARP Method™, a framework that turns the decision-making discipline of the operating room into practical tools for leaders and teams making decisions under pressure.

Dr. Ekeke serves on the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association – Detroit Chapter. His academic background in translational outcomes research informs his clinical practice, his approach to leadership education and mentorship, and his work in quality improvement.
